Capturing Twitter Tweets on Your Homepage

By default, you can display six Dashboard components on your Homepage, depending on your role permissions as set up by your Workspace Administrator.

 

  1. Follow the steps in the Homepage Preferences topic under Add a FootPrints Dashboard Component.
  2. Select Twitter Feed from the Available Components list.
  3. Under Setting for Twitter Feed:
    1. Select the number of Twitter Tweets to display from the Records to display drop-down list (between 1 and 10).
      •  To capture Tweets from or mentioning a specific Twitter user, select User screen name, then enter the Twitter username in the User screen name field (e.g., @Username).
      • To capture Tweets containing keywords, select Search string, enter the search query in the Search string field (e.g., @YourServiceDesk).


        Below are some examples of search operators you can use in the Search string field. For more search operators, see Using the Twitter Search API on Twitter's Developers Web site.

    2. Select an option to capture Tweets from a specific Twitter user or from keywords:

 

  1. Select an option to determine how much of the Tweet to display:

    • Display the first (from 5 to 60) characters option.
    • Display all characters
  1. Click the Add Component button.
  2. Enter your password and click Save

    Your Homepage displays the Twitter Feeds on your Dashboard. To edit the Twitter Feeds, see Edit a Dashboard Component in HomePage Preferences.
