Password Change Notification

If an email user's password is changed by the system administrator, an email notification of the change is sent to the user. The following is an example of a typical email message to a user whose password has changed:

To: George gsmith@nowhere.example

From: FootPrints Administrator

Subject: FootPrints password change <user name> <Name of FootPrints Instance>

Your <Name of FootPrints Instance> password has been changed on the following server: <Server Name> date of change.

If you did not expect this change please contact your system administrator to be sure the change was authorized.

The <Name of FootPrints Instance> system administrator making the change is:

sysadmin@somewhere.example

If an email user changes the password, a notification with different wording is sent to the user.

Password Lockout Notification

The following is an example of a typical email message to a locked out user:

To: George gsmith@nowhere.example

From: FootPrints Administrator

Subject: FootPrints Account Locked Error <user name> <Name of FootPrints Instance>

Repeated <Name of FootPrints Instance> login failures have locked your account.

Ask system administrator to unlock account or wait for the lock to expire.
