The Action Button

When BMC FootPrints Asset Core is enabled for a workspace, the Action button can be found:

The Action button is the means by which you can access many BMC FootPrints Asset Core actions. By default, the button displays the View Asset Summary action. That is, if you were to click the Action button, a summary of all of the information in the database for that particular device is displayed. The arrow to the immediate right of the button is used to display the other actions you can take.

This documentation only describes how you access the actions, not the actions that you can take and how to work with them.  For complete information on the actions themselves, refer to the BMC FootPrints Asset Core documentation. This does not apply to View Asset Summary, Run Audit, or Advanced Actions.

The actions are:

Button selections are persistent. That is, while View Asset Summary is the default action displayed on the Action button, if you select another action, such as View Events, the button will be labeled with View Events until another action is selected.

Pending Advanced Action Icon

BMC FootPrints Asset Core can, through its Advanced Actions function, create a "pending action" associated with an asset. That action may depend on an approval via the FootPrints Change Manager module, an escalation, or some other factor. When an asset has a pending action and that asset is also associated with an issue, an icon is displayed to the left of the Action Button indicating that there is an Advanced Action pending. If an agent is able to edit an issue, the agent can remove the pending action by first clicking the Pending Advanced Action icon and then clicking the Remove This Action button that is displayed in a pop-up. The Remove This Action button only works in the Edit views of an issue.
