How do I connect to PAL 3.0 with an Android device?

NOTE: These instructions were created using Android 4.2.1. Scroll down for instructions on how to connect to PAL using Android 2.1.
  1. Tap the 'Menu' button, select 'Settings'.

  2. Select 'Wireless & Networks' from the list.




  3. Make sure the 'Wi-Fi' selection is switched on.




  4. Tap 'Wi-Fi'.

  5. Tap 'PAL3.0', or tap and hold to see the option for 'Modify network'.




  6. Leave the following defaults set:
    Phase 2 authentication = 'none'
    CA Certificate = '(unspecified)'
    User Certificate = '(unspecified)'


    NOTE: We have received reports that some customers may need to explicitly select MSCHAPV2 under "Phase 2 Authentication" in order to connect successfully. This appears to vary from device to device.


  7. Scroll down to 'Identity'. Enter your career account username under 'Identity' and enter your career account password under 'Password'.




  8. Tap 'Connect' to save your settings and complete setup.

  9. Confirm you are connected to PAL by looking for the word 'Connected' underneath PAL3.0.



These instructions were created using Android 2.1.

  1. Tap the 'Menu' button and select 'Settings'.

  2. Select 'Wireless & Networks' from the list.



  3. Make sure the 'Wi-Fi' selection is checked.



  4. Tap 'Wi-Fi Settings'.

  5. Scroll to the bottom and tap 'Add Wi-Fi Network'.



  6. Enter 'PAL3.0' in the Network SSID field.



  7. Select these settings:
    • Security: 802.1x Enterprise
    • EAP Type: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

    NOTE: For Android OS 2.3 or higher the only setting that changes is Security: 802.1x EAP.

  8. Leave both 'CA certificate' and 'Client certificate' fields blank.
  9. Scroll down, enter your career account username and password in the 'Identity' and 'Password' fields.
  10. Leave the 'Anonymous Identity' field blank.
  11. Select 'Save' to save your settings and complete setup.
