Pending Execution
Entered on 12/12/2012 at 17:12:36 EST (GMT-0500)

NOTE: Your device must be running Android 2.0 or higher to connect to PAL2.0.

These instructions were created using Android 4.2.1 and work for both PAL2.0 and PAL3.0. Scroll down for instructions on how to connect to PAL using Android 2.1

  1. Tap the 'Menu' button, select 'Settings'.

  2. Select 'Wireless & Networks' from the list.

  3. Make sure the 'Wi-Fi' selection is switched on.

  4. Tap 'Wi-Fi'.

  5. Tap 'PAL2.0' or 'PAL3.0'.

  6. Leave the following defaults set:
    Phase 2 authentication = 'none'
    CA Certificate = '(unspecified)'
    User Certificate = '(unspecified)'

NOTE: We have received reports that some customers may need to explicitly select MSCHAPV2 under "Phase 2 Authentication" in order to connect successfully. This appears to vary from device to device.

  7. Scroll down  to 'Identity', enter your career account username under "Identity" and enter your career account password under 'Password'.

  8. Tap 'Connect' to save your settings and complete setup

  9. Confirm you are connected to PAL by looking for the word "Connected" underneath PAL2.0 or PAL3.0.

These instructions were created using Android 2.1.

  1. Tap the 'Menu' button, select 'Settings'.

  2. Select 'Wireless & Networks' from the list.

  3. Make sure the 'Wi-Fi' selection is checked.

  4. Tap 'Wi-Fi Settings'.

  5. Scroll to the bottom and tap 'Add Wi-Fi Network'.

  6. Enter 'PAL2.0' in the 'Network SSID' field (without a space or the quotes).

  7. Select these settings:
    • Security: 802.1x Enterprise
    • EAP Type: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

NOTE: For Android OS 2.3 or higher, see the screen shot below for Security Preferences.  The only setting that changes is Security: 802.1x EAP.

  8. Leave both 'CA certificate' and 'Client certificate' fields blank.
  9. Scroll down, enter your career account username and password.
  10. Leave the 'Anonymous Identity' field blank.
